Ncs Expert Windows 7

NCS Expert not compatible with my Windows7. No matter if I run in compatibility mode or not, on my Windows 7 64-bit laptop, NCS-expert refuses to run. Install BMW Tools. From the above extracted file set, find the file 'Step 1_ Install BMW Tools.exe', right-click on it and select 'Properties'. Click on the Compatibility tab and change the dropdown to Windows XP SP3 as the Compatibility Mode, also tick 'Run As Administrator', then click 'Ok' Double-click on the above file to start the installation.

I am aware that NCS is 32 bit only, I have just seen other members have INPA on windows 7, I have all the software for 32 bit machine, just don't have a box with XP loaded. Just trying to make a decision on what computer I need to build this on. I am new, totally green, on the coding part, but have built many computers in the past, now everything comes preloaded. Reason why I asked you about Win7 edition is cuz I wanted to configure whether your current set up is capable of supporting Windows XPmode virtual machine. Of which Home premium does not. Only Professional and Ultimate does. I tried uploading both INPA and NCSExpert via Win 7 (32 & 64 bit) numerous times but was unsuccessful.

You might get lucky with INPA but NCSExpert simply will not work. Anyway, you have the following options; 1) Upload a Virtual Machine (VMware) then install a non- Win7 OS (Windows XP, Vista etc) within the virtual machine and run your BMW tools program from there. Drawback with this approach is VMware Virtual Machine program is quite expensive (close to $150-$200). Then you must acquire a different Windows OS (XP, Vista) which is also pricey unless you have a functional product key sitting around somewhere. 2) Second option, purchase the 'Anytime Upgrade' product key (around $86 from Microsoft) and convert your Win7 home premium to Professional- whole process takes 10 minutes tops.

This way, you will be able to upload and mount Microsoft XPmode (FREE of charge) then run all your BMW tools using this Virtual machine. Trust me, I have tried both approaches and VMWare is quite hectic. Sometimes the system will crash or you'll incur un-mountable dic boot error during start up. Upgrading to Win7 Professional is the best approach.

Not only you eradicated the hustle and headache of installing a new Windows OS in a VMware machine but it keeps the whole set up really simple and organized. No need to build a different computer either. Both INPA and NCSExpert work flawless and you can dedicate the XPmode for your BMW programming tools instead of scattering the files all over Win7.

Also, I only paid $50 instead of $86 for the upgrade product key fee. I have a friend who works for Microsoft and he gets employee discount on all their products. I can hook you up if interested. Thanks a ton. I also contacted the eBay seller about the description in his listing stating that the INPA software would work on Windows 7 64 bit. Thanks everyone for all the help. I just responded to you PM. INPA will work on Win 7 64bit if you install it using Windows XP SP3 Compatibility Mode. However, this is NOT possible with NCSExpert. My point is, if you only care about INPA, you could get away without uploading and running any Virtual Machine.

If you want NCSExpert and other BMW program, it is inevitable. Trust me, I have exhausted all possible options. Also, due to recent computer glitch, I have installed and re-installed BMW program tool software over a dozen times already. The first time it took me about 3 days to figure out WTF I was doing. But right now, I can get the whole set up and running from scratch in less than 30 minutes. Pkathee knows his stuff, the software I got with my cable was not compatible with the 5.02 update. Pkathee helped a ton, a couple hours later I had a fresh install of INPA.

The dealership and the INDY shop I went to knew nothing about getting my battery registered correctly. I also had 46 error codes stored in the memory and they never went back after fixing the problem and cleared the codes. The second, I mean when Pkathee pushed the register battery button my max AC turned on.

I now have a final stage resistor my Indy shop told me to get as a new desk weight. Thank you everyone that chimed into this thread, it would have taken me weeks to get this ironed out.

I am happy to help.:) Glad everything worked out for you too.:thumbup.

I read through the thousands of posts on the sticky and searched here for my problem and found bits and pieces, but then I got stuck. So, here's my problem: I get this when I open NCS Expert from my desktop shortcut: So I went to the link to update my driver to allow this to work with Windows 7 based on this post: 7.FIFO must be enabled?

Tx and Rx set to '8'?? The hell is this, I don't have these options in my COM settings? The newer FTDI drivers do not have this feature. Just lower latency to '1'.

Leave rest default. If you decide to get the drivers straight from FTDI, reference this post for some clarification. Update: Ok, technically the FIFO options still exist.but in registry, reference this post. Then I downloaded this driver, 2.08.14.

Here's what came over: So when I follow their install guide to update my driver, I don't get the Other Devices option: I changed my Com to 1 and latency to 1, so I get the Ports (com/LPT) option and when I try to update the driver under that, it says I have the most up to date driver. What am I doing wrong?

I do get the 2 black dots when I open INPALOAD, but I do fail the airbag test. Yahoo messenger full version. By performing one of the “trick” moves before the player gets possession of the ball it’s possible to do a number of moves, such as touching the ball forward to gain a few yards. FIFA 05 PC Game Overview Released only a few months after Euro 2004, FIFA 2005 brings several features to the franchise, such as the return of a player creation tool, where a player can be created from scratch from customizing the face (while it’s not possible to define the texture like in previous EA Sports games such as NHL 2000, the player can customize the facial features such as shape of the eyes or the cheeks, in a way similar to RPGs such as Neverwinter Nights), accessories and playing abilities. The main gameplay change was the addition of “First Touch” controls.

NCSExpert only runs on 32bit versions of Windows 7. Are you 64 bits? If so, and if you have Win7 Professional you can run all of these tools in Windows XP Emulation mode. Tis is some of the most frustrating Fd up sheeeeit I've tried yet.

Upgraded to Professional and added XP mode/Virtual PC. Moved the Ediabas, INPA, and NCSEXPERT folders over to the virtual PC.

Created the NCSEXPERT shortcut, the INPALOAD shortcut, and the WORK shortcut to the new desktop. Then did the OBDsetup run and restarted the machine. Right before it shutdown, it put the Virtual PC into hibernation. Followed the rest of the DIY. Went into the device mgr and changed the path and comm settings to 8 and 8. Plugged the cable in the car and laptop, I have Comfort access, so I pushed the button twice to activate the ignition.

Clicked on the shortcut INPALOAD and no black circles. I get them when I run INPALOAD from my original Windows7???? So, Any ideas now, before I get tooo frigging pissssed????? I'm sure I'm missing something stupid. Will look exactly the same as it does in a regular PC with the ftdi drivers installed. It shouldn't appear in the other devices.

I had to fumble with my device manager before I got it sorted and I don't know exactly how I did it. But it finally detected the attached device as a usb to serial port adapter and popped up in com ports and line printer sub folder.I pointed it to the driver files which I had downloaded then it looked the same. I uninstalled the normal com port drivers so there would be no conflict. Yes sir I did, and I have SP-Daten 49.x coming down the pipe. It will probably be sometime before I gather up the balls to even think about flashing the car, but I'm starting the process There's about 30 feet between the car down in the driveway and my computer in the room so I'm hoping I can code everything without messing with the car too much, ultimately. It doesn't look safe for me You should first gain more knowledge about this, cause NCSdummy is not a tool able to flash anything. If you have Standard Tools 2.12 then it must work on Windows 7 - Ncsexpert 4.01 also works there great, so I will send you all necessary files with Alpina flash files too, don't brick anything dude.
