Is this a file you created in Autocad or imported from another program? If it is created in autocad, these are my usualy go to's.

Removes unused named objects, such as block definitions and layers, from the drawing at the Command prompt. Purge allows you to remove unused named objects from a drawing at the Command Prompt. You can only remove one level of reference at a time. Repeat the command until there are no unreferenced, named objects. At the Command prompt, enter PURGE. Hello, I am using Autocad 2007 I made several blocks with att. And I use this drawing and copy it to the samples/design center folder so that I can see the blocks.

Do you have any views set up, or are they used in other blocks? Multi-view blocks have to be taken care of in STYLEMANAGER before they can be purged. If the ones you cant purge are nestled in or part of another block, you can explode them and use WBLOCK to redefine than try purge again.

If either of those don't work, you may have to do the renaming trick, which I am too lazy to type out so Ill just paste it here. 1) use the command -wblock 2) enter a new name 3) enter. (that will tell Autocad to create a new drawing with everything in it) 4) close the old drawing don't save and open your new clean drawing with all your paperspace tabs, your done!

My guess is those blocks are part of a point style. Your template is probably setup so that when you import survey points CAD will insert the correct block for you. A point labeled 'tree' will get the block titled 'DTree' and a point labeled 'pine' will get the block 'CTree'. That's probably where your blocks are coming from but to get rid of them you'll have to delete the 'Description Key Sets' which is found in 'Toolspace/Settings Tab/Point'. Once you delete that you should be able to purge those items. That being said.there's usually no harm in leaving those blocks in your drawing.
